Goal #1

Increase student grade level equivalent performance rate on Star 360 Reading assessment by 5% throughout the course of the school year. Goal #1 will be reached by the end of April 2026.

Measurements

The Renaissance Star 360 Reading test is used to measure the amount of growth in Reading students gain throughout their educational experience at Cache High. Students are tested in September, January and April to determine growth. Data from the January 2025 testing indicated that students attending Cache High test on a 9.64 grade level equivalent on the Star 360 Reading assessment. Due to the fact that students are performing below grade level in Reading, it was determined to focus on student growth..

Action Steps

1. School-wide reading/home library/classroom set books are purchased - ($1,870.19)
2. A certified teacher develops curriculum for each book to help students improve skills in reading comprehension and vocabulary - ($1,224)
3. Students read the same book in class along with their peers. Activities and discussions go along with the reading to help ingrain comprehension and vocabulary. When the school-wide books are completed, students are encouraged to take their copy of the book home for their family library
4. All students take the Star 360 Reading test in September 2024
5. Results are compiled and shared with teachers and individual students shortly after each test is given
6.  School personnel review test results with each individual student before January and April tests are administered
7. Star 360 Reading test is administered again in January 2026 and April 2026
8. Results are analyzed after each test to determine individual growth as well as the overall average growth of the student body
9. Purchase of Star 360 licenses - ($1,730)
10. Paraprofessional – An additional staff member helps with a variety of tasks including contacting guardians throughout the day when students are absent and running reports detailing missing assignments for each student. If students are at school and doing their work, they will be more successful in school and improve their academic abilities. Student attendance is vital to ensuring accurate and useful academic data- ($3,257)

The Renaissance Star 360 Math test is used to measure the amount of growth in Math students gain throughout their educational experience at Cache High. Students are tested in September, January and April to determine growth. Data from the January 2025 testing indicated that students attending Cache High test on a 8.47 grade level equivalent on the Star 360 Math assessment. Due to the fact that students are performing below grade level in Math, it was determined to focus on student growth.

Action Steps

1. A certified teacher and a Paraprofessional are hired two days each week throughout the school year to be available for students needing math assistance - ($7,289)
2. All students take the Star 360 Mathematics test in September 2025
3. Test results are compiled and shared with teachers and individual students shortly after each test is given
4. School personnel review test results with teachers and each individual student before January and April tests are administered
5. Star 360 Math test is administered again in January 2026 and April 2026
